Migrate Music Review: Capillaries – “Into The History Of Light”

Ambient Post-Rock would be the best way to describe this instrumental band coming to you from Atlanta, Georgia. This smooth array of sounds called “Into the History of Light,” and was created by Nick Cawley, Jared Colladis, Neal Williams, and Tim Nagel, and the band is called Capillaries. This is their debut album dedicated to easy melodies. I wouldn’t hesitate to say that this is one of the more prominent up and coming assemblies in the Post-Rock category. This is by no means and insult to these very talented musicians, but this is the perfect music to fall asleep to. They combine slow melodic guitar riffs and almost psychedelic keyboard noise with heavy driving drum parts.

Their song, “Extraction Point,” reminds me of something that might get played in a suspenseful apocalyptic film. Their music (especially this song) portrays a sense of a penultimate kind of letting go that accompanies an end to something. What, in their own intentions, I couldn’t possibly say, but you, reader, need to definitely pick up this album and add it to your collection. “Into the History of Light” would be a perfect addition to any record collection.
